We are committed to ensuring our schools are a living part of the community and contribute positively to its needs.
We engender love and tolerance between and for our staff, pupils, and others to foster an inspiring atmosphere of mutual support.
We do everything possible to provide a caring, safe, and secure place for our staff and pupils to be happy and respected in our schools so they may achieve their potential.
'I wish I moved my child here sooner!' Year 3 Parent
At the Duchy of Lancaster CofE Primary School we aim to be a bit better than the best school in the world because that is what our children deserve. In doing this we will prepare all children for the next stage of their education and beyond.
At Duchy, we want the very best for all children from the first second they join us: ensuring we get the children’s education right from the very start. Our strong emphasis on having the very best teaching of early reading, phonics, writing and maths will lay the solid foundations for every child. We are passionate about this aim. Our knowledge rich, carefully sequenced curriculum, coupled with strong evidence-based pedagogy and principles make sure what happens in school is the very best we know. These are reinforced by our solid Christian culture and ethos which permeates through everything we do. Our consistent approach and high expectations of behaviour in addition to the positive support of ‘Thrive’ strategies will ensure all children are ready to learn and be the very best they can be.
Our school and Trinity ethos is:
A cord of three stands is not easily broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:12)
We discuss this as: we are stronger together than apart.
Firstly, as a Church of England School, we see this as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. However, you can see this in: The Trinity partnership of 3 schools; our three candles lit in collective worship; school-parents-children working together; school-home-church partnership and more.
This ethos is supported by our values of:
- Ready so we can make every second count.
- Respectful so we can learn from our teacher and each other.
- Safe so everybody can learn.
We will work together with the children, parents and staff to encourage and instil these values in our school and community. All children can name and explain our ethos and values.
